Building Disputes

Our teams are able to give advice and guidance on any of the following building dispute issues.

  • Problems with work carried out by a builder/tradesman
  • Is the completed work of sufficient quality to meet your expectations
  • Are remedial repairs required
  • Problems with the agreed Contract
  • What happens if there wasn’t a written contract
  • Do you need to get your money back

We understand that having work carried out to your property or home can prove to be stressful and expensive. The above questions are frequently asked when a dispute arises.

We aim to offer a service that will reduce your stress levels and provide you with definitive guidelines as to how to achieve your aims. This may include the enforcing of a Contract to enable the builder or tradesman to complete the agreed work; arranging for a quantity surveyor to assess the quality of work completed and advise on remedial repairs, if any, which may be required; or alternatively to recover any monies that you have paid for sub-standard work.

Disputes relating to building contracts can often be very stressful and expensive for the individual.  It is important that if you have concerns about what is going on that you keep written and photographic records of what is happening for later reference purposes.  To try and avoid the expense and anxiety of a protracted dispute we would always recommend that the individual consider mediation as a way of resolving the dispute.  We can advise you on what is involved with this and how you go about it.

We will address your concerns and assess the merits of your case and consider the level of damages that may be recovered and the procedure involved in achieving this.
